Album release concert
Red Stones is a jazz quartet known for its distinctive, highly intense sound. Their creative musical world blends elements of modern modal jazz, post-bop, and fusion, enriched with touches of contemporary and folk music. The backbone of their current program is the material from their new album Carousel, released in November 2025. Their compositions reflect a constant search for new paths, an innovative spirit, and the freshness that comes with it. Alongside bold motifs and unexpected harmonic turns, the music remains deeply expressive and accessible, marked by a balance of melodicism, emotional depth, playfulness, and conscious structure.
The quartet’s sound is a true rarity in the Hungarian jazz scene. They are one of the few ensembles to feature the vibraphone as a jazz solo instrument—an instrument that captivates listeners with both its appearance and its beautiful tone. The unique musical character of the group is defined by energy, dynamism, and creativity, all of which are enhanced by László Vörös’s exciting compositions, Richárd Szaniszló’s virtuosic vibraphone solos, Ádám Bögöthy’s melodic double bass lines, and Tamás Hidász’s complex, colorful rhythms.
Concert duration: 2 x 45 minutes with a 15-minute intermission
